You don't have to spend as much money on carpet cleaning and upholstery cleaning as you think and as much as the carpet cleaning company wants you to. For instance, you don't have to have all the furniture moved, in fact the less the better. If a piece stays in the same place year after year it can't be dirty under there, so why move it? Probably because it takes longer and the carpet cleaner wants you to so he can charge more. Also it isn't a good idea to get carpet wet underneath heavy furniture. Even if it's put on foam blocks, usually about one inch thick, how much air is getting under there? Not much. Causing the carpet to take much longer to dry. Not a good situation. So at most just clean the traffic areas and places where things spill & spot. The rest only needs to be vacuumed and why pay the carpet cleaner to do that. There are much less expensive alternatives.
Next don't clean all the rooms, some just don't need it. As the wise philosopher once said, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." Save your money and your carpet. Also, just spot clean rooms that only have a spot or two. Again why get it wet if it doesn't need it. If a carpet cleaner isn't willing to work with you in doing these things, call someone else.
Next: Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning companies are usually slow in the winter months and that's good for you. Why, because you can save money by having your carpet and upholstery cleaned then. If we're not doing anything we'd rather be working for a little less than not. So call now & ask about our winter rates. You'll be happy you did.Next: Have a spot or two on your carpet or upholstery, but don't want to pay a carpet cleaning company to come out? Invest in a good small carpet cleaner like a Bissell, etc. If used properly you can do a nice job with many common spots. Here's how. First with a good quality carpet cleaning or upholstery cleaning spotter, spray on to the spot. Then blot, blot, blot. When that's done, with very hot water, clean & rinse out the spotter, according to the instructions of your machine. Never use the carpet cleaning solution in the machine as this will leave a residue behind that will attract dirt. By spraying the solution on first with a sprayer then rinsing you avoid that as much as possible. As always please call anytime with questions about carpet cleaning, upholstery cleaning, pet odor treatiment, and anything else relating to these.

Dust is a never ending occurrence. Everyday it makes it's way into all areas of our homes, cars and everywhere we are, often causing allergies. This makes regular dusting and vacuuming vital for our well being . Some places to vacuum and dust that perhaps you don't think of or do often enough are:
Upholstery, all cushions, all sides and the body.
Mattresses and Pillows, very few do this but it can be helpful. Try to do it every time you change the sheets.
Window Coverings and Sills, including shades, blinds and draperies.
Carpet, obviously, but don't neglect sweeping or vacuuming under the bed, especially where the headboard rests against the wall. Usually overlooked and usually a mess. Same is true for behind and under night stands and dressers. Often overlooked and can be a haven for dust.
